Drive Exclusively with Winter Tires: Several Roads Closed in Armenia
The Emergency Situations Service informs that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake are closed. The Meghri Pass, Ttujur-Navur, Gndevaz-Jermuk, and the road from the Jermuk intersection to Kapan are closed for vehicles with trailers.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and is difficult for other vehicles to navigate. There are spots of black ice on the roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Dilijan, Sevan, Champartak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasia.
Blizzard conditions are reported on the Shinhuyt-Harjis and Shinhuyt-Tatev roads. Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Department and the Russian Emergencies Ministry's crisis management center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
