On December 9, searches were conducted at the homes of Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan's uncle and niece. This information was confirmed in a conversation with the media by lawyer Arsen Babayan, who noted that during the searches, phones and computers were confiscated.
It is noteworthy that on December 4, the head of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, was arrested, and on December 5, he was detained. The Investigative Committee reported that during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, public criminal prosecution was initiated against the individual under Article 393, Part 2, Points 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code (illegal trafficking of drugs by a group of individuals with prior agreement in a designated place).
