With EU Support, We Will Successfully Hold Elections as a Result of Democratic Reforms: Simonyan
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, considers 2026 to be a significant year in terms of Armenia's internal political life. The next parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 2026.
“I am confident that due to the broad democratic reforms implemented with the support of the European Union, we will successfully hold these elections as well,” Simonyan stated during the 12th regular session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
Earlier, he had also mentioned that noticeable progress has been made in establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, evidenced by the joint statement signed by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, with the participation of the U.S. President, on August 8, 2025, in Washington.
