The Akopova-Rakhmanin Pair Representing Armenia Will Participate in the Olympics

The pair of Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin, representing Armenia, will participate in the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Milan in 2026.

As a result of the short and free programs in the qualifying round, the Akopova-Rakhmanin couple earned a total of 186.84 points, securing the second position.

"This is a long-awaited event for Armenian figure skating, as this couple is truly Armenian. Karina Akopova is a real Armenian," said Ari Zakaryan, Vice President of the Armenian Figure Skating Federation.

He noted that this is not only a sporting victory but also a historic moment for the country. It is worth mentioning that Akopova and Rakhmanin changed their sports citizenship this spring, transferring from Russia to Armenia.
