US to Cut Military Aid Programs for European Armies Neighboring Russia
The United States will scale back military aid programs intended for European armies bordering Russia. This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to the publication, Pentagon representatives informed European diplomats last week that the US will no longer fund training and armament programs for the armed forces of Eastern European countries that would be on the front lines in the event of a conflict with Russia.
According to estimates from Senate aides, the cuts could affect a program that sent $1.6 billion to Europe from 2018 to 2022. The main recipients have been Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
