Israel: US-Iran Agreement Will Not Limit Us

Israel has stated that if an agreement is reached between the US and Iran, it will not limit its actions, especially if Tehran revives its nuclear program or advances its ballistic missile development.

Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen emphasized that the country is not bound by any agreement that does not ensure Israel's full security. “Even if the US and Iran come to an agreement, if Iran takes steps to restore its nuclear program or advance its ballistic missile program, we will strike,” Cohen said.

He noted that Israel is working towards eliminating threats from Iran related to the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait within the next three to four years.

Cohen also discussed plans for establishing a regional transport and energy corridor, suggesting the possibility of creating a land route that would connect Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait to the Mediterranean Sea, and then to Europe. He indicated that Israel would like this route to pass through its territory and mentioned discussing this issue with partners in the US and Greece.

According to Cohen, Turkey and Egypt are also interested in such a route.
