White House Announces Possible Statement During Pashinyan-Aliyev-Trump Meeting
US President Donald Trump will host the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the White House on August 8, aiming to mediate a peace agreement between the two countries. This was reported by The Washington Post, whose sources had previously confirmed the meeting.
A senior White House official, who requested anonymity, stated that a potential announcement regarding a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan may be made during the meeting.
Prior to the presidential elections in October 2024, Donald Trump criticized his rival Kamala Harris, noting that she "did nothing while 120,000 Armenian Christians were horrifically persecuted and forcibly displaced." He remarked that he would "work to end the violence and ethnic cleansing" and would restore peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
It is worth mentioning that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will visit the United States on August 7-8.
