Record Heat Recorded in Turkey at +50°C

In several eastern cities of Turkey, temperatures have approached 50°C. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

According to journalists, on July 24, at least 38 cities in the country recorded temperatures above 40°C, particularly Ankara and Antalya.

Meanwhile, on July 25, the hottest temperature was reported in the eastern city of Silopi, where thermometers showed 49.9°C.

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts that the abnormal heat in the republic will last until August 2, during which temperatures will exceed the seasonal average by 7-12°C.

Today, Roman Vilfand, the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, warned that abnormal heat is expected in several regions of the country. These include the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), the Krasnodar Territory, Sakhalin Region, and regions of the Northwestern Federal District.
