We Will Do It Our Way: Samvel Karapetyan
Arrested businessman Samvel Karapetyan has issued a statement saying: "Dear compatriots, our very first rally confirmed the main fear of those in power. Our people are confident that they are strong and will not be broken by repression. I want to once again thank the tens of thousands of my compatriots who have shown civic bravery from July 4th until now.
I am sincerely grateful to everyone who has offered me their support. In recent days, there has been much discussion about my message, but unfortunately, various interpretations have arisen that are detached from reality. I believe I was very clear: we will create a fundamentally new political force.
I have great respect for the political forces and figures who have genuinely fought against the anti-national policies of Nikol Pashinyan until now. However, we have our vision for building a better future for Armenia. And we will go our own way, with our new team, while not excluding political collaboration with like-minded individuals.
We will strive to unite our people around just and great goals. We reject the black-and-white and other artificial divisions that this government has imposed on society, which have fragmented and weakened our country.
Even in today's regime, there are real professionals who do not share the values of a small clique, yet still do not see the path they would consider a way out of the current situation.
The formation of our political team has begun. We will do it our way."
