‘Pashinyan Cannot Afford to Lose’ – Zatulin
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is aware that the deadlock he is leading Armenia and the Armenian people towards demands new ‘sacrifices,’ said Konstantin Zatulin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma’s CIS Affairs Committee, in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“It is obvious that in order to shift the consciousness of the Armenian people, collaborate with Azerbaijan and Turkey, and change Armenia’s foreign orientation from Russia to the West, a very high price must be paid. Moreover, that price is constantly increasing. It is necessary to sacrifice Armenia's relations with Russia as a traditional protector and patron, to abandon Armenia's heroic history, and to forget the memory of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. One must sacrifice the traditional Armenian religion and show disrespect towards the Armenian Apostolic Church,” the Russian politician emphasized.
Regarding the parliamentary elections set to take place in Armenia in 2026, Zatulin believes that “Pashinyan cannot afford to lose.”
