The situation at the Mother See has heated up again. Those gathered did not allow law enforcement to take the leader of the Shirak Diocese, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, from Ejmiadzin.
After a scuffle near the police vehicle, the Bishop decided to return to the monastery. Archbishop Mikael's health had deteriorated. The Bishop returned to the monastery with the Catholicos.
“I will not enter the monastery; I am here...,” the Bishop said in response to calls for him to enter the monastery.
