New Details on the Kidnapping of an Armenian Man
Before being kidnapped at Yaroslavsky station, Armenian blogger Areg Shchepikhin called law enforcement officials. This was reported by the Baza Telegram channel.
"Before the kidnapping, Areg Shchepikhin called the police, and they requested a video of his apology," the report states.
According to the TV channel, on the evening of June 3, the man called law enforcement and said that an unknown person approached him in a cafe at Yaroslavsky station and began filming him. At the same time, the man demanded that the blogger apologize for insulting Chechens and Muslims.
It is also reported that the call to the police was recorded at 9:10 PM, about 20 minutes before Shchepikhin’s kidnapping.
Earlier, it was reported that unidentified individuals kidnapped a man at Moscow's Yaroslavsky railway station. A black Mercedes approached the station, from which several men exited, grabbed the 40-year-old Armenian businessman Areg Shchepikhin, and took him in an unknown direction.
