Students Await, Deadlines Extended: Artik School Will Not Reopen Again
According to the Hraparak newspaper, "This year too, Artik’s Number 2 Basic School will not open its doors to students. The construction work, which started in the autumn of 2021, is still ongoing. The responsible party for the construction is the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia, which, in response to our written inquiry, states that the deadline for the school's construction work has been set for November 30, 2026. 'The construction is in its final phase. The school will be handed over by the commission that accepts the construction object, after the work directed at accepting the object is completed within the set timeframe.' Meanwhile, the initial deadline for the school construction was 2024, but it has been extended several times since then, due to the previous contractor's irresponsibility. During this time, both the company performing the construction and the deadlines have changed. Currently, the construction is being carried out by 'G T S Construction' and 'Azurit' companies, and the contract value is nearly 1.5 billion drams (1 billion 498 million 775 thousand 95 drams)," the article states.
