First Medal for Independent Armenia at Karate European Championships
Gor Nersisyan, a member of Armenia's men's karate team, has made history by becoming the first karateka to win a medal for independent Armenia at the European Championship for adults. This was reported by the Armenian Karate National Federation.
During the championship held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex, Nersisyan competed against Slovakia's Simon Sekery for the bronze medal in the men's -84 kg weight category, securing a victory with a score of 5:2.
This marks the first medal for independent Armenia in an adult championship. Shortly after, Yuri Zalyan will compete for a bronze medal in the 60 kg weight category.
