Positive News Expected Regarding Peace Treaty Signing: Mirzoyan
Positive news may be forthcoming regarding the signing of the peace treaty. This was stated by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in response to a question from "Liberty".
To the question of whether there are negotiations with Baku, and if so, whether these are around Azerbaijan's preconditions, the foreign policy chief replied: "Everything that has been said is, in essence, an update; there is currently no new information. Just as we were ready to begin consultations at any moment, we are still ready now. Unfortunately, we are hearing various statements from the Azerbaijani side, and as of now, there is no progress. However, there is conversation, and as in any negotiation, we must arm ourselves with patience. Perhaps there will be positive news in the near future."
It has been about two months since the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty was agreed upon, but Baku is demanding constitutional changes and the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group for the signing.
