Our Proposal Remains in Effect: The Fire Will Only Cease Under This Condition, Zelensky
The proposal of Ukraine for a ceasefire lasting 30 days remains in effect. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel.
“Such an initiative could lead to a definitive ceasefire. Our proposal to halt the fire for at least 30 days is still valid,” he wrote.
Earlier, on April 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. Moreover, on May 3, Zelensky rejected the initiative, stating that Kyiv could not guarantee the safety of foreign leaders arriving in Moscow for the parade.
