The U.S. Will No Longer Act as Mediator Between Russia and Ukraine – State Department
The United States will no longer take on the role of mediator in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. The time has come for direct talks between the parties. This was announced during a press briefing by State Department spokesperson Tami Bruin.
“We will not be mediators. We are not going to fly to the other side of the world in an instant to facilitate meetings. Now, the work must be done between the two sides,” she stated.
However, the U.S. will still make efforts towards establishing peace, but resolving the conflict now requires “specific ideas” from both Moscow and Kyiv, the State Department spokesperson added.
