Significant Increase in Illegal Border Crossing Cases Recorded in Armenia: Prosecutor's Office
A significant increase in cases of illegal border crossings has been recorded in the Republic of Armenia. This is stated in the report on the activities of the Prosecutor General's Office for 2024.
"In 2024, a total of 160 similar cases were registered, compared to 78 in 2023. Thus, the number of illegal border crossings has increased by 82 or 105.1 percent," the report states.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, there has been a decrease in cases of organizing illegal migration. In 2024, 15 such cases were recorded, down from 24 in 2023, indicating a reduction of 9 cases.
