What is the Situation of Individuals Affected by the Avalanche?

Eight individuals were affected by an avalanche that occurred on the northern peak of Mount Aragats. The victims have been hospitalized with the assistance of teams from the republican emergency services. According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, doctors have initially diagnosed them with polytrauma (moderate and mild).

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports that the affected mountaineers are citizens of Spain. One of them remains missing.

It is worth noting that on March 11, at 15:26, the emergency management center of the Aragatsotn regional rescue service received a call indicating that an avalanche had occurred on the northern peak of Mount Aragats. A group of nine individuals had been trapped under the avalanche, eight persons managed to escape, while one is missing.

Search and rescue operations for the missing individual are being supported by two helicopters.
