Navigation Seals to Be Implemented Starting Tomorrow
Starting January 27, navigation seals will be required for transporting a number of goods by road to Russia and Belarus or through Russia and Belarus to other countries. This was announced by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
Specifically, this pertains to alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, textiles, footwear, telephone equipment, monitors, and those items classified as dangerous goods under Belarusian legislation, which have been processed under transit customs procedures in that country.
The navigation seals will be provided to transporters at the Upper Lars crossing point. However, to obtain a seal, it is necessary to register on the relevant website prior to arriving at the crossing point and to make the required payments, among other prerequisites.
It is noteworthy that in September 2024, during the Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan, Ruslan Davidov, a member (minister) of the Collegium on Customs Cooperation of the EAEU, stated that the EAEU hopes that the agreement on navigation seals will be practically implemented by 2025.
The agreement on navigation seals, signed by the leaders of the EAEU countries in Moscow on April 19, 2022, came into effect in April 2023.
