Analysis of Crashed Azerbaijani Plane's Black Boxes Completed

Experts have completed the analysis of the black boxes from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft that crashed near Aktau city in Kazakhstan. Among those involved in the analysis were specialists from Brazil’s Air Force Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center.

According to sources from the center in a conversation with Brazilian G1 portal, the extraction of data from the two recorders has been completed, and the information has been compiled and verified, with relevant details sent to the Kazakh authorities.

It is recalled that on the morning of December 25, the Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 aircraft, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed not far from the city of Aktau. According to preliminary data from Rosaviation, the aircraft commander decided to head to the reserve airfield in Aktau after encountering a bird strike.

According to the airline, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported that 29 people survived. According to the Russian embassy, among them are nine Russians. Lists indicate that there were 16 Russian citizens on the plane.
