Changes in University Specializations and Admission Exam Lists in Armenia
During today’s cabinet meeting, it is anticipated that the list of specializations and admission examinations for universities in the Republic of Armenia for the 2025-2026 academic year will be approved. This is reported by the newspaper "Pats".
From the study of the draft, it becomes clear that certain changes have been made compared to the previous list intended for the 2024-2025 academic year. In particular, for the educational programs of Yerevan State University in "Geology," "Geography," and "Cartography and Cadastre," the examination for the "Geography" specialization has been replaced by a mandatory exam in "Mathematics," with "Geography" and "English" as optional exams. The same applies to the examinations for the "Geography" specialization in all universities.
The educational programs at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia now include "Mineral Enrichment," "Radio-Frequency Equipment and Systems," and "Elevating, Road and Construction Machinery." In almost all educational programs at Brusov State University, the subject "Armenian Language" has become a mandatory exam subject.
At Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, the educational programs "Surdo-Pedagogy," "Oligophrenic Pedagogy," and "Tiflopedagogy" have been replaced with the educational program "Special Pedagogy," and the list has been supplemented with two new programs: "Ergotherapy" and "Arts and Crafts."
