Roads Closed and Impassable; Blizzard Conditions Reported by Ministry of Emergency Situations
There are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia, with blizzard conditions reported in the Ashotsk region. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
Currently, the road leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn province is closed. The Aparan-Spitak road, including the Spitak twists, is impassable for all types of vehicles. The Gyumri-Bavra road and the Tigranashen twists are difficult to navigate for trucks, while the Dilijan twists are challenging for truck trailers.
“There is snow in the Vardenyats mountain pass in Shirak province, except for the Amasia region, in the Aragats region of Aragatsotn, in Vayots Dzor province, in Charentsavan, Hrazdan, Sisian cities, in the Tigranashen twists, in the area known as 'Meghru Sar', and on the Gorayk-Zanger road,” the message states.
In the Tavush province's Noyemberyan and Berd regions, in the town of Chambarak, in the Aragats region, and in the highland areas of Syunik province, fog is present.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia advises drivers to travel exclusively with winter tires.
