Erdogan Speaks Again About the 'Corridor'
On November 6, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at the 11th summit of the Turkic States Organization held in Bishkek. Referring to the development of trade among member countries of the Turkic States Organization and the preparatory work for appointing a special representative for the effective use of the Middle Corridor, Erdogan stated, "For the effective use of the Middle Corridor, which will contribute to the development of trade between member countries of the Turkic States Organization, the President of Azerbaijan proposed appointing a special representative during the summit held in Shushi. I would like to say that we already have a candidate for this position."
Erdogan noted that "the doors of peace and stability have been opened in the South Caucasus after 30 years of conflict and instability." He then addressed the issue of the occupation of Artsakh, characterizing it as a historic victory for Azerbaijan and expressing hope that these "achievements" would be formalized at the negotiating table as soon as possible with the signing of a peace agreement.
