First Frost Recorded in Armavir
Throughout the week, the harvest of poppies, cabbages, and potatoes has continued in certain mountainous regions. In the mountainous areas, the third leaf of autumn-planted wheat has emerged, while in the foothills, the nodal roots have developed, and in the valley areas, the crops have begun to sprout.
Presenting agro-meteorological information for the period from October 21 to 27, the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports that the weather conditions have not been very favorable for the growth and development of autumn crops.
From October 22 to 24, the first frost was recorded in Armavir, with temperatures dropping to -1 to -2 degrees Celsius. During the same period, in the mountainous regions, surface soil temperatures were recorded between -5 and -8 degrees, and in some areas, temperatures fell to -10 to -12 degrees Celsius, which could pose a risk to underdeveloped autumn crops.
