Deceased Soldier Last Spoke with His Mother: Details
On October 13, at around 09:30, Agasi Dallakyan was found dead due to a gunshot wound at a military unit in Meghri. On the day of the incident, he spoke via video call with his mother, assuring her that everything was fine. This was reported by Tehmine Solakhyan, the principal of the Musayelyan Secondary School, in an interview with News.am.
The Ministry of Defense had previously announced that Agasi Dallakyan, a soldier from the N military unit, had suffered a fatal injury to his neck. Dallakyan was from the village of Basen in the Shirak region and was the eldest son in his family.
“Agasi's mother, Gohar, said that she spoke with her son via video call yesterday morning. Everything seemed fine, and the family did not notice anything unusual about him. Agasi mentioned that he would call them again, and then would call his father, who is currently working abroad in Russia. However, he never called back,” Solakhyan explained. “At the end of their conversation, he said that a vehicle had arrived, probably a superior officer, and he would check who it was and call back. He hung up and then did not contact anyone. About 10 minutes later, his mother called him, but Agasi did not answer.”
According to the principal, Agasi had contacted his teachers a few days earlier to congratulate them on Teacher's Day, mentioning that his service was going well.
Hayk Mnatsakanyan, the administrative head of Basen village, stated that Agasi was conscripted into the army in January 2024. “He hadn't even turned 19 yet. Before joining the army, he was engaged in agriculture, helping his family. He even asked for equipment to work on after returning from his service,” Mnatsakanyan noted.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the death of Agasi Dallakyan under the first part of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder).
