Armenia's Women's Team Wins for the 4th Time at the Chess Olympiad
The Armenian women's team secured its fourth consecutive victory at the 45th Chess Olympiad. This information is reported by the Armenian Chess Federation.
In the fourth round of the Olympiad, the women's team achieved a 3:1 victory over the team from Vietnam. Elina Danielian and Anna Sargsyan were the winners, while Lilit Mkrtchyan and Mariam Mkrtchyan's games ended in draws.
The men's team was also competing against the Chinese team. Haik Martirosyan played to a draw with the reigning world champion Ding Liren playing with the black pieces. The match concluded with a score of 2.5:1.5 in favor of China.
Today, Armenia's team will face Sweden. Both teams have 6 points and are ranked between 13th and 49th places.
It should be noted that the Chess Olympiad is taking place in Budapest, Hungary, and will conclude on September 23. A total of 11 rounds will be held.
