What is the Situation at Lars: Details
There are no significant queues on the road leading from Georgia to Russia and vice versa at the 'Upper Lars' checkpoint; currently, 114 trucks are waiting. Out of these, 35 are Armenian.
The checkpoint is operating under normal conditions. This information has been reported by the website of the North Ossetian Center for Organizing Road Traffic.
Since the beginning of August, long queues have formed on the road leading to the checkpoint, with the number of trucks exceeding 5,000, of which 30% are Armenian trucks. According to statistics, about 150 Armenian trucks pass through Upper Lars daily.
It is worth noting that this military road is the only operational land route connecting Armenia with Russia (via Georgian territory).
