Tesla and SpaceX Build World’s Largest Structure: $119 Billion Megaproject

Tesla and SpaceX are set to construct a joint factory named Terafab in the Grimes area of Texas, not far from Houston. This facility will manufacture chips and microchips for Tesla’s robots and vehicles. The project will cover approximately 9.3 million square meters in area. If successful, it will become the largest building in the world.

According to the information on SpaceX's website, the companies will exert maximum efforts to protect the environment during the construction. Specifically, they will use water from reservoirs instead of drilling holes, build purification plants on site, and use recycled materials where possible.

The project is estimated to cost $119 billion, but specific timelines for its implementation are not yet known.
