The Supreme Judicial Council Suspends the Powers of the Judge Who Oversaw Robert Kocharyan's Case
The Supreme Judicial Council has suspended the powers of Judge Anna Danibekyan, who was overseeing the case of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. The decision was announced just moments ago.
The Ministry of Justice submitted the motion to the Council, calling for disciplinary action against Danibekyan. According to the Ministry, Danibekyan grossly violated the rules of judicial conduct, resulting in the acquittal of defendants, including Robert Kocharyan, on the grounds of statute of limitations.
It is worth noting that Anna Danibekyan was not present at the hearing.
