Armenian Ambassador Visits Belgorod to Offer Condolences to Residents of Collapsed Building
The Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, visited Belgorod where a residential building collapsed due to a missile strike from Ukrainian forces, as reported by TASS.
“This is a place where the sorrow of dozens of people is concentrated, not only those who have been affected, but I also believe it has a psychological impact on the entire city. Here, you can only feel one thing—compassion, and an understanding of the full extent of this grief. Naturally, it evokes a desire for all this to come to a swift end,” Harutyunyan told reporters.
On May 12, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Belgorod had come under attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The ministry noted that “the debris of a struck missile, one of which was ‘Tochka-U,’ damaged a residential building in the city of Belgorod,” resulting in the deaths of 17 people.
During his working visit, Vagharshak Harutyunyan also visited the “Siren” center for artistic gymnastics, sports acrobatics, and trampoline jumping, which, according to Russian media sources, was shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 11, 2024.
