VIDEO: 20 Workers Killed in Fire in South Korea
A fire broke out at a battery factory in South Korea, and the bodies of 20 individuals have been discovered, reports the Yonhap news agency.
On Monday, a fire occurred at a lithium battery production facility located in Hwaseong, south of the capital city, Seoul, according to representatives from the firefighting service.
Yonhap reported that approximately 20 bodies were found in the factory's premises. The fire, which had mostly been extinguished, began around 10:30 AM after a series of accumulator batteries exploded in the warehouse, which included about 35,000 units.
Local firefighting service representative Kim Jin-yon stated that nine people have been confirmed dead, and four others have been injured, with the condition of two being extremely critical.
