Today was not an interesting day for the "main African ally of the USA." Due to the outrageous increase in taxes, massive protests have erupted across Kenya. There are significant demonstrations observed in the capital, Nairobi.
Protesters stormed the parliament building, which was subsequently demolished and set on fire. In the cities of Kisumu, Nyeri, Nakuru, Eldoret, and Kilifi, people are destroying administrative buildings and looting shops.
Gunshots and explosions are heard in the streets, and according to African media, at least 8 people have been killed, with more than 200 injured. Among the injured is Barack Obama’s sister, who was participating in the protests and was affected by tear gas.
