How Much Compensation Will Be Provided to People Displaced from Their Homes in Kiran
According to our information, people displaced from their homes in Kiran due to border delimitation are being offered compensation ranging from $50,000 to $130,000, depending on the type of property. The highest valued properties are the two houses that will pass into Azerbaijani control, owned by Mher Simonian and Khanum Tamrazyan. Both have already begun demolishing their homes. According to village head Kamo Shahinyan, both individuals will be allocated land in the village for the construction of new homes.
A total of 54 properties belonging to 30 individuals will be transferred to the Azerbaijani side, all of which have cadastral certificates. Of the 30 property owners, 20 have agreed to accept the compensation proposed by the government.
In addition to the two residential houses, three shops, one auto parts store, 48 plots of land, and several hectares of community land will also pass under Azerbaijani control. Some of these houses and plots are located right next to the border, although they remain on the Armenian side.
