«The Small Neighborhood Near Debed Has Turned Into a Rubbish Heap», Claims Resident
The flooding of the Debed River has caused damage to Armen Ter-Karyan, who states, “My garden has completely flooded and been swept away. There’s such a massive water pool in my garden that if I fall in, I will disappear without a trace. This is a consequence of the flood on May 26.”
According to reports from Araavot, the massive landslide coming down from the nearby mountain range has struck and ruptured the pipe supplying the neighborhood, causing immense destruction along with the flood, simultaneously fertilizing the disturbed ground. “There is no time for such ‘small’ emergencies now. As I mentioned before, the forces are mobilized primarily in more delicate areas, but I can firmly assert that there is years of work to be done here.”
While the city, now reminiscent of Venice, is not in a state of panic, the situation is indeed stressful. The residents of Alaverdi, who have never witnessed or imagined such a thing, are only asking each other, “Hey, what was that?”
