All areas where bus stops are not logically placed will be reviewed: Avinyan
All areas where bus stops are not logically placed will definitely be reviewed. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated this during the discussion of the implementation of the 2023 state budget in the National Assembly, also addressing the planned dedicated lanes for buses in this context.
“In Yerevan, buses and public transport will be given priority, and dedicated lanes will be designed for them. We conducted a trial last year. This year, we will implement complete bus lines in areas where public transport experiences the highest traffic density. We will also coordinate this with the operation of our metro system.
As a result, I can say that the number of lines will significantly decrease, but the number of people transported by that transport will significantly increase. Why are we increasing the fleet? Because there is a need. We require 171 more buses now and an additional 250 units of 18-meter buses; in other words, we have not yet met that need,” he added.
