National Security Service Denies Claims of Bagrat's Agency Links
The National Security Service (NSS) has officially denied information circulated by governmental circles regarding Bagrat's alleged ties to agency activities. This was reported by ‘Pastinfo’.
Statements made by Civic News journalist David Levonyan claiming that Bagrat is an agent for the KGB and has received millions of dollars from the Kremlin have led to a month-long investigation by the NSS. However, no evidence has been found against Bagrat.
The Prosecutor General's Office informed ‘Pastinfo’ that no such data was obtained during the investigation. Regarding Levonyan's alleged act of false denunciation, no criminal proceedings have been initiated in that context either.
“False denunciation is considered as providing false information to a competent authority regarding a crime or the commission of an offense by an individual. In this case, no report of a crime has been filed with the Prosecutor General's Office or any other competent body,” the prosecutor's office stated.
It is worth recalling that on April 29, the “Tavush for the Homeland” movement filed a complaint concerning a crime, demanding either the initiation of criminal proceedings against Bagrat within 24 hours or holding the journalist from Civic News accountable for false denunciation. The latter has made unsubstantiated allegations and slanders against Bagrat, accusing him of being a ‘KGB agent’ receiving millions of dollars from the Kremlin and inciting a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
