Will Indicate Weakening of CSTO Positions: Grizlov on Freezing Armenia's Participation
The freezing of Armenia's participation in the CSTO will not seriously disrupt the organization's work, but it will indicate a weakening of its positions in the South Caucasus. This statement was made by the Russian ambassador to Belarus, Boris Grizlov.
“Effective mechanisms have been established within the organization that allow for the discussion and resolution of a variety of issues, even if they initially seem difficult to solve. The main question is how Armenia's political stance will be shaped in these conditions,” he said.
According to him, Washington and Brussels are trying to draw regional countries into geopolitical adventures. “Whether this will bring safety to Armenia is a rhetorical question,” he added.
