The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe, during his visit to Moscow, proposed to organize a trilateral meeting regarding the Ukrainian settlement involving Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Volodymyr Zelensky.

The American publication Axios, referencing its own sources, reports that CIA Chief John Ratcliffe suggested conducting trilateral negotiations on the Ukrainian issue. It is noted that he proposed organizing such a meeting between Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Moscow.

Ratcliffe traveled to the Russian capital on August 25. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the trip was related to communications between intelligence services, and a meeting with President Vladimir Putin did not take place, although the state leader was briefed on the discussions that occurred.

Peskov also added that it is too early to assess how the visit of the American official to the capital will impact the process of bringing U.S.-Russia relations out of the deepest crisis.
