Amirbekov on Peace Between Azerbaijan and Armenia
Azerbaijan and Armenia are close to peace, with hopes that remaining issues will be resolved in the near future. This was stated today by Elchin Amirbekov, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan, during a speech at a conference in Baku focused on demining.
Amirbekov also mentioned that "every infrastructure in Karabakh has been built from scratch," highlighting that $7 billion has been invested in construction works for the restoration of those territories.
It is noted that as a result of Azerbaijan's military aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh from September 19-20, 2023, the region was emptied of its Armenian population, with 105,000 ethnic Armenians seeking refuge in Armenia.
