It's been two years since this school is being repaired, at this pace when will the new school be ready? Kiran resident
We have to live in our village, we don't want to leave, but how can we take our kids to class on the border? A resident of Kiran told NEWS.am that villagers are still concerned about how their children will go to school in September. The newly constructed school building is located near the border.
Referring to Nikol Pashinyan's statement that if parents still do not want to send their children to that school, the government is ready to build a new school in another part of the village, the Kiran resident said: "We have also been offered to build a school in another part of the village, at least allow us to send our kids to school. It's just that it has been two years that they have been repairing this school; if they continue at this pace, when will the new school be ready?"
According to the resident, people whose houses fall under Azerbaijan's control due to demarcation and boundary issues in Kiran are already forced to gather their belongings and try to take out what they can in order to leave their homes. "There probably isn't another option, what can they do," he said, adding that he is not sure whether they have agreed to the compensation offer or not.
It should be noted that Nikol Pashinyan, in an interview with journalists today, May 29, in the yard of the National Assembly, in response to the question of what will be done if certain parents in Kiran refuse to take their children to school because the school may be close to the border, said: "We will reach a decision based on their desire, we will implement additional safety programs. If that does not satisfy our parents, we will build a new school in another part of the village, while the old building will be reinforced for border guard services since the service also needs improved building conditions."
