Investigative Committee Reports on Arrests During Protest
Today, two participants of a protest in Yerevan were arrested on suspicion of carrying cold weapons. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to the report, the citizens were transferred to the central police station from the intersection of Nalbandyan and Isahakyan streets around 12:00 PM.
“During the search, an object resembling a cold weapon was found on them: one folding knife each,” the statement noted.
It was revealed that they are residents of Yerevan, aged 42 and 47, with the former having been previously convicted three times for theft (two of which were armed robberies), while the latter was convicted for intentionally causing serious harm to another's health.
A criminal case has been initiated based on the features of Part 1 of Article 334 of the RA Criminal Code (illegally carrying civilian smooth-bore firearms, gas, air pressure, cold or throwing weapons).
