Government Adopts Decision on Retraining Healthcare Workers
The Government of Armenia has approved a draft amendment to the law on "Medical Assistance and Service to the Population," which proposes mandatory professional development courses for healthcare workers. The list of these courses will be determined by the government based on necessity.
The draft also suggests establishing a reimbursement procedure and applicable cases for participation in continuous professional development activities conducted by foreign and international organizations, with the authority for approval reserved for the government.
According to Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, “For example, courses related to emergency medical assistance provided to victims during emergencies or disasters, as well as those on the professional ethics standards for healthcare workers can be included. The determination of mandatory courses will be reserved for the government.”
