Pashinyan on Armenia's Main Issue with CSTO
During a press conference on May 7, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that under the circumstances of Azerbaijan’s military aggression against Armenia, the CSTO wanted to position itself in Armenia not as an ally, but as a peacekeeper.
“Our main issue with the CSTO was that they wanted to come to Armenia not as an ally, as expected, but as peacekeepers. And what does a peacekeeper require? A war. And in this situation, when is war possible? It is possible when we refuse demarcation,” the Prime Minister said, adding that this is where the logical chain closes.
