VIDEO: Traditional Torch March Begins from Republic Square
The traditional Torch March organized by the Youth Organization of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the “Nikol Aghbalyan” Student Union has commenced from Republic Square in Yerevan, in anticipation of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
As in previous years, this year too, everyone has had the opportunity to participate in the Torch March as torchbearers, carrying a torch symbolizing the fight for the recognition and condemnation of crimes against humanity towards Tsitsernakaberd.
It is important to note that to ensure the safety of participants in the torch march, traffic will be restricted on several streets of the capital from 19:00 today. In particular, traffic will be partially prohibited at Republic Square, Amiryan Street, Mashtots and Baghramyan Boulevards, and Orbelyan and Kievyan Streets.
Additionally, on April 24, from 06:00, traffic will be restricted from Leningradyan Street towards Tsitsernakaberd highway, from the crossroads of Isakov and Athens Streets towards Athens Street, from the bridge adjacent to Yerevan HPP in the Hrazdan Gorge towards Isakov Avenue, and Verfeli Street towards Brazil Square.
On the same day, from 08:30 to 11:00, access to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex will be closed to ensure the safety of participants in the state ceremonial event.
