Memphis Depay Paid Bail for Dani Alves
The Dutch forward of Madrid's Atlético, Memphis Depay, has assisted Brazilian footballer and former Barcelona defender Dani Alves in securing his release from prison by paying €1 million in bail. This was reported by Daily Sports.
According to sources, Dani Alves himself did not have such funds due to debts and frozen bank accounts. Memphis Depay forged a friendship with the Brazilian player during their time together at Barcelona in the 2021/2022 season.
In January of last year, the 40-year-old Dani Alves was charged with the sexual assault of a woman at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. He was detained on January 20. Later, the Brazilian was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and was also ordered to pay €150,000 to the victim as moral damages. Furthermore, the Spanish Prosecutor's Office intends to appeal the court's decision, arguing that Alves should spend more time in custody.
