VIDEO: Chicago Residents Dye River Green for St. Patrick's Day
Chicago's plumbers have once again dyed the river green in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, local media reports.
The local plumbers' union has maintained this tradition since 1962. The dyeing effect typically lasts for several days, and the exact recipe for the dye is kept secret. It is known that vegetable-based ingredients are used in its production.
To dye the river, approximately 18 kilograms of dye powder is required, which is dispersed from several boats at once.
