Arush Arushanyan Denies Driving Under the Influence
The mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan, denies reports that he drove a vehicle with gold license plates today while under the influence of alcohol, which was bought for him by his father. In an interview with Aravot.am, Arushanyan stated, "In this difficult situation, instead of trying to fix something or move forward, we are only talking about zeros." He continued, "I have been engaged in sports my whole life, and I still am. I generally stay far away from alcohol; I always prefer sports over drinking. This is just one round. The lawyers will handle the legal aspects, and you will be informed when there is a final answer on the matter."
When asked whether he is contesting the decision to revoke his driving rights or if he considers the reports to be slander, Arushanyan responded, "As I said, the lawyers are dealing with this issue. I neither say it's slander nor any of the other things you mentioned. I am not saying anything like that; the lawyers will solve the problem within the legal framework, and I am not dealing with it myself."
It should be noted that according to shamshyan.com, police caught Arushanyan with a high level of intoxication, and the vehicle was moved to the special territory of the police unit in Yerevan. Consequently, Arushanyan has been deprived of his right to drive for one year.
