US State Department Comments on Lavrov's Remarks Regarding Armenia
The spokesperson for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, has commented on a reporter's question regarding the statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who claimed that Armenia is moving towards the West and that there will be consequences.
Miller, responding to Lavrov's phrasing, stated: "I am not going to directly answer that question, although this is the kind of rhetoric we have been noting from the Russian government. It destabilizes the region. You can see that Russia's neighbors are concerned by such threatening rhetoric and actions from Russia. The Russian government has repeatedly shown what it is willing to do against its neighbors."
