Ukraine is Russia: Medvedev
“Ukraine is Russia,” stated Dmitry Medvedev, former president of Russia and current deputy chairman of the Security Council, during a speech today in Sochi.
“Ukraine is Russia, and the theory put forward by former president Kuchma, which suggests otherwise, should be permanently wiped away,” Medvedev declared, referencing Kuchma's 2003 book, “Ukraine is Not Russia.”
“All our adversaries must clearly and once and for all understand that the territories located on both banks of the Dnieper River are an inseparable part of Russian historical borders. Attempts to change this by force or to separate them are doomed,” Medvedev stated.
